Kids II is making some serious recalls, the company has issued a recall for about 400,000 Baby Einstein Musical Motion Activity Jumper. The basis of the recall regards concern that the attached hanging toys might snap back with concern and injure the infant sitting in the chair. The main concern reportedly comes from a plastic toy sun which swings on a flexible rod, when pulled on by an infant the sun can snap back with notable force. Kids II decision to recall the baby Einstein toys came after 61 injuries including cuts and bruises were reported.
Some of the more serious injuries reported were, a 7-month old reportedly suffered a skull fracture from the device. In addition, a parent claimed to have suffered from a chip in his tooth after getting hit with the defective part of the Musical Motion Activity Jumper.
Kids II issued a statement recalling all Baby Einstein Musical Motion Activity Jumpers with model number 90564 that were made before November 2011. If you want to check your child's toy to see if it is a part of the recall, the model number and creation date can be found on a tag attached to the underside of the seat. Consumers in possession of the toy can call Kids II at (877) 325-7056 to get a replacement toy, as the Consumer Product Safety Commission has encouraged users to immediately stop using the device.
Kids II did clarify that the current inventory of Baby Einstein Musical Motion Activity Jumper at retail stores in not involved in the recall.
