Azamat Tazhayakov and Dias Kadyrbayev are the two college friends of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. The two 19-year-old men from Kazakhstan were jailed by immigration authorities only a day after Dzhokhar was captured by FBI following a manhunt in Boston.

Azamat Tazhayakov and Dias Kadyrbayev, were classmates with Tsarnaev at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Authorities say they were detained for immigration violations on April 20 after being questioned in connection with the attack, which occurred a few days earlier.

Earlier reports claimed that the pair had no connection to the Boston Marathon bombings. Kadyrbayev's lawyer, Robert Stahl, said in a phone interview, “these kids are just as shocked and horrified about what happened as everyone else, they can't even fathom something like this from a kid who seemed to be a typical young college student."

Now sources believe that the two students from Kazakhstan may be charged with obstruction of justice for providing aide to Dzhokhar Tsarnaev following the Boston Marathon bombings.

CNN reports that the pair has been arrested on charges "of making false statements to investigators and conspiracy to obstruct justice."
