From devastating wildfires to the tragic shootings that occurred in Aurora, Colorado has endured an extraordinarily difficult summer.
Putting its worst days behind them, Pikes Peak prepares for the 90th Pikes Peak International Hill Climb held from Tuesday, August 7, until Sunday, August 12th.
Participating racers and manufacturers are looking to put on a good show at Colorado's historic event and it looks like Audi has something particularly special up its sleeves.
From a caption to an image recently posted on Audi's Facebook page, Audi says, "The 90th Pikes Peak International Hill Climb kicks off in just one week and to pay homage to our record-breaking past here, we've got a surprise in store for you..."
The teaser image bares the mug of a special Audi Sport livery RS5 and given that the current Pikes Peak participant roster hasn't logged an Audi newer than 2001, this special RS5 could only mean a special last-minute addition.
Information on Audi's Pikes Peak plans are kept close to its chest for now but we're certain that details will continue to leak as the days until Pikes Peak event start to dwindle.
Finally, check out one final teaser that Audi has left us: "Here's a history lesson from the Audi Sport Quattro S1."
