Auburn faces of this Saturday against Tennessee and after an impressive turn around season, the Tigers are looking for another win on the road. No one really imagined the 2012 2-7 Auburn Tigers amounting to be No. 7 in the BCS in the 2013 Season, but at 8-1 Auburn is clearly dominating the SEC West. This weekend the team is looking to continue their resurgence against the Tennessee Vols, who have unfortunately started to flatter. Auburn is on a hot streak, winning 5 consecutive games since losing to LSU. Auburn can't afford to lose to the Vols in their hunt for the top stop in the SEC West, only one game behind Alabama.
And while Auburn is getting hot at the right time, it seems like Tennessee has started to fall apart at the worst time. The Vols are coming into Saturday's game against Auburn at a mediocre 4-5, although they only boost one conference win thus far. If the Vols beat Auburn, this will be their second conference win. And while most predictions, see the Auburn Tigers coming away with the W, Tennessee's last two loses cam on the road and they are hoping that home field advantage can assist them in changing the tides.
So what is the key matchup up in Saturday's SEC showdown, Auburn's running game vs. Tennessee's run defense will make for an exciting game. Auburn leads the SEC with 306.2 yards rushing per game, and we are expecting them to tack on some serious yards in Saturday's game. Tennessee currently rank's last in the SEC in terms of run defense, meaning that the matchup will hold some explosive Auburn runs. Be sure to keep your eyes on Auburn's RB Tre Mason, who currently leads the SEC with 13 touchdown runs. Mason rushed for 168 yards and a career-high four touchdowns last week against Arkansas.
Auburn and Tennessee will face of on Saturday, November 9 at 12:00 p.m. at Neyland Stadium. The game will be broadcast on TV on ESPN, and also available via live stream by clicking here!
