A Colorado bank robbery was allegedly thwarted by poor penmanship, local police report.

On Dec. 17, a man entered First National Bank in Loveland and handed a note to the teller, CBS reported. Dressed in a brown hoodie, green cargo pants, a green baseball cap, work gloves, and sunglasses, he reportedly grew frustrated as the teller struggled to decipher the note's handwritten message.

The writing was mostly illegible, and rather than clarifying the note's contents, police say the man left in a hurry.

The suspect remains unidentified and authorities request that anyone with information about the robbery or the man in the bank's surveillance footage please contact the Loveland Police Department.
