After endless months of rumors and anticipation, "Attack On Titan" Season 2 is finally returning before the end of the month. The "Attack On Titan" anime series is by far the greatest new anime of 2013. "Attack On Titan" Season 1 ended on a seriously nail-biting cliffhanger when we not only learn the truth of a certain female Titan, but we also discover a massive Titan that awakens within the crumbling Wall Sina. Two awesome full-length animated movies will also be released after the "Attack On Titan" Season 2 premiere!
"Attack On Titan" Season 2 release date is July 26! GMANetwork.com was one of the first outlets to report a July 2014 release date, but no specific air date was announced until now. The July 26 date was confirmed by JapNation AniManga. "Attack On Titan" Season 1 ended when Commander Hanji and the Survey Corps captured a crystalized Annie Leonhart. However, just as the corps captured one Titan, Mikasa made a bone-chilling discovery of a Titan lurking within Wall Sina. "Attack On Titan" fans will know that Sina is the innermost wall that protects the kingdom where the king resides. Why would there be a hibernating Titan so deep within humanity?
(If you are allergic to spoilers, please stop reading now!) According to the manga chapter following the end of "Attack on Titan" Season 1, the priests were quick to order the troops to shield sunlight from the Titans as quickly as possible, suggesting that the priests had known about the Titan within the wall all along. What's more, it also explains why the priests are so obsessed over the Goddess Maria, Rose, and Sina. However, a Titan within Wall Sina means that Titans within Wall Maria and Wall Rose are highly likely as well. In fact, it's possible that there is more is more than one Titan within each wall. If we were to take this theory even further, how terrifying would it be if all the old walls were completely made out of the bodies of sleeping Titans?
A second theory regarding the Titan within the wall is that the Titan is also a shifter just like Annie and Eren. It is highly unlikely that Annie has been acting alone in her epic mission to capture Eren. Could the Titan in Wall Sina be the leader of the mission? And could the Titan in the wall be Annie's father? We'll find out when "Attack on Titan" Season 2 airs later this month.
The two full-length "Attack On Titan" movies are "Attack on Titan Part I: Crimson Bow And Arrow" and "Attack on Titan Part II: Wings of Freedom." According to reports, "Attack on Titan Part I: Crimson Bow And Arrow" will have a winter 2014 release, while "Attack on Titan Part II: Wings of Freedom" will arrive in 2015. An exciting live-action "Attack on Titan" movie is currently in production as well. The live-action movie release date is slated for 2015. Be sure to stay tuned on the latest "Attack on Titan" updates in the weeks ahead as we continue to learn more exciting details ahead.
