The "Attack on Titan" development timeline is of utmost important as impatient fans rely on this information to predict the "Attack on Titan" Season 2 release date. According to reports from earlier this month, Season 2 development will not begin until the release of Volume 15 of the manga in Winter 2014. "Attack on Titan" Season 2 probably will not air until August 2014. Last week, the University of Tokyo Newspaper reported the latest info on the manga during a rare interview with "Attack on Titan" editor Shintaro Kawakubo.
According to Kawakubo, the writers now have a clear picture of "Attack on Titan," including its story arches, mysteries, and characters. After layout it all out, Kawakubo predicts that it will potentially take three to four years for the series to be wrapped up. Information is limited, but Kawakubo was particular excited and proud of the Attack on Titan" manga during his interview with the University of Tokyo.
“The serialization is slated to end in three to four years, but 'Attack on Titan' is a work that will be passed down from generation to generation for a decade -- no, five decades,” said Kawakubo. Since the "Attack on Titan" manga debuted in 2009, more than 36 million print copies have been sold.
During the candid interview, Shintaro Kawakubo also talked about "Attack on Titan" author Hajime Isayama. According to Kawakubo, Isayama remains extremely humble dispite the incredible success of his manga. For example, says Kawakubo, Isayama never fails to express his thanks even for small things.
Unfortunately, Kawakubo did not go into detail or reveal any juicy plot spoilers. That said, we definitely expect to learn a lot about Levi Ackerman in his "Attack on Titan: No Regrets, Birth of Levi" spin-off anime.
