Aston Martin is the quintessential British grand touring car and nothing is more appropriate for the English gentleman than a shooting brake. While many could have come to the conclusion that an Aston Martin shooting brake would make a stunning addition to the sports car manufacturer's current lineup, it took an Italian design house Bertone for the idea to finally materialize.
Celebrating 60 years of cooperation between Aston Martin and Bertone, the Jet 2+2 is a gorgeous one-off shooting brake version of the voluptuous, but cramped, Rapide four-door sports sedan. Keeping the same lines and muscular fenders as the standard sedan, the Jet 2+2 features an elongated roofline and, as a result, more headroom for the passengers in the rear as well as more storage behind the hatch. Bertone also styled the Jet 2+2 wrap-around taillights from the inspiration of the latest Aston Martin Vanquish.
The Aston Martin Jet 2+2 uses the Rapide's mighty V12, which boasts 470 hp and 443 lb.-ft. of torque. The more powerful 550 hp version from the Rapide S sedan, which will unveil at Geneva, was not yet available during the development of the Jet 2+2.
The Jet 2+2 one-off will go to one very wealthy Aston Martin collector from Britain for an undisclosed amount.
For the rest of us, be sure to see the Jet 2+2 revolve on top of a glamorous pedestal at the 83rd Geneva Motor Show. The Aston Martin Jet 2+2 gallery is also available below:
