After starring together in the music video for “Boyfriend,” Ariana Grande and Mikey Foster are now rumored to be in a relationship. While the music video was an art of fiction, fans couldn’t help but notice the intense chemistry between Grande and Foster and are now speculating that something might actually be going on between them behind the scenes.
True enough, when Ariana Grande released the behind-the-scene shots from the set of “Girlfriend” shortly after the video’s release on Aug. 2, fans caught a glimpse of their closeness in real life. The video shows both Grande and Foster getting flirty between takes, with Grande even running and jumping into Foster’s arms at one point. Whether it was just a playful act or a deliberate display of affection, fans were convinced that Grande and Foster’s relationship is not purely platonic.
Although neither Mikey Foster nor Ariana Grande has commented on the romance rumors, Foster previously revealed in an interview how much he admires Grande. “Ari was very polite and generous and opened the door to us and we started working together,” he said.
When Grande celebrated her birthday last month, Foster also posted a sweet message for the singer, fueling speculations that romance was brewing between the two. “Ur one of the most incredible people the universe has to offer,” he wrote. “I hope this year offers u nothing but the joy u deserve,” he added.
On Sunday, after performing “Boyfriend” live for the first time at Lollapalooza in Chicago, Grande and Foster partied with some friends at the River North restaurant Siena Tavern. According to sources, the pop star and Foster sat next to each other during dinner and were inseparable the whole time.
While Grande has yet to confirm their relationship, it won’t be surprising if she does, considering her long history of hooking up with her collaborators. Her romance with Big Sean, Mac Miller and Pete Davidson all started when she collaborated with them.
Foster, meanwhile, is the other half of the pop duo Social House, with whom Grande recently collaborated for her new single, “Boyfriend.” Social House also co-produced her songs “Thank U, Next” and “7 Rings.”
