Talks have been swirling around that Ariana Grande and BTS might be collaborating on an upcoming song. A publication recently claimed that there’s some light evidence pointing out that a collaboration might actually be in the works, thrilling both the ARMYs and Arianators. Although the project has yet to be confirmed, many are already wondering as to who will benefit more from the collaboration.
Recently, Grande’s manager Scooter Braun shared on Instagram a mash-up video of Justin Bieber’s “I Don’t Care” and BTS’ recent performance on “Saturday Night Live.” Interestingly, in the entertainment industry, there’s a theory called “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon,” in which artists get to work with seemingly unlikely collaborators through their connections.
With Grande’s manager sharing a video of BTS on his Instagram, it is clear that the world’s biggest pop star and world-renowned K-Pop group have a common ground — Braun, who has a long history of making huge collaborations happen. Case in point is Bieber’s newest record-breaking collaboration with Ed Sheeran. Not only that — BTS member Jungkook is also a self-proclaimed Arianator.
After attending Grande’s recent concert, Braun posted a video on his Instagram stories, showing him sharing seats with Jungkook, who was waving to the camera the whole time. Jungkook is one of the most popular members of BTS, and he’s a huge fan of Grande. Shortly after the concert, he also posted a photo of himself holding his ticket to Grande’s show. “I felt and learned a lot after seeing her on stage. I am really challenged by her stage and will try harder!” he said.
Considering Grande’s connection with BTS, a collaboration looks highly possible. Now, fans of Grande and BTS are already in talks as to who will benefit more from the rumored joint project. Both artists are globally renowned and have undeniably huge fan bases. Both have a wealth of awards under their belts, and both are social media influencers in their own ways. But while both of them are big stars, one fan noted that it’s definitely BTS that will benefit more from the collab.
“Definitely BTS,” one fan said. “Ariana has more fame globally especially with the general public, BTS on the other hand has fandom power which is why they have high album sales, but have big drops in the hot 100 after a week showing lack of support. Meanwhile, Ariana was charting on melon top 5 and was consistent. So she’s really not going to benefit anything from BTS, BTS would benefit a lot from her though,” the fan continued.
ARMYs and Arianators have yet to see if the rumored collaboration will see the light of day. As of this writing, nothing has been confirmed yet, so fans should take everything with a grain of salt.
