Around 1:00 p.m., a woman's head was caught between the train doors in New York. The incident that occurred at the last station of train 4, at Woodlawn, The Bronx, has caused fuss due to the indifference of the people walking next to her without offering any help.
After a few seconds, you can hear a Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) worker, asking for help. Later the operator managed to open the doors with a key and offered medical assistance to the woman.
According to Telemundo 47, authorities said that the passenger declined the aid offered. The MTA spokeswoman Beth DiFalco said that, despite suffering an unfortunate incident, the passenger was not injured, and commented that the passenger was never at risk.
In the video - that generated more than 1.4 million views in Instagram - you can find a series of comments of all kinds. Some users were joking while others were surprised at what had happened.
"Wow that's gangsta. People now and days mind their business and if they see something they something. They don't do nothing. I would of ask her is she okay or tried to spark up a convo," said an Instagramer.
Usually MTA subway trips transport riders safely from Point A to Point B, but deaths and catastrophic injuries can occur when passengers do not pay attention to their surroundings. Sullivan & Galleshaw lawyers ensures that while suicides and deliberate acts of violence do occur, a large percentage of the subway accidents in New York City are unintentional.
They also shares some different types of subway incidents:
- Direct impact with subway trains.
- Entanglement in malfunctioning subway train doors.
- Slip and fall accidents, typically caused by: Broken or loose flooring or handrails, inadequate lighting or unsecured wiring or other debris.
The best thing to do is to be very careful and always stay calm when we are facing situations of risk.
