Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are reportedly planning to exchange vows on a beach near their Malibu home after the female singer wraps her “It’s My Party” tour. The power couple is reportedly spending at least $17 million on their dream wedding, but it looks like this cannot be true.
Earlier this week, a report claimed that Lopez and Rodriguez are aiming perfection for their wedding and are therefore going all out with their preparations. “Jen knows exactly what she wants; she expects nothing less than perfection,” the source allegedly said.
“It seems she’s already fired three planners and is now on her fourth. That means costs are going through the roof. At this rate, it’s going to be a $17-million affair — and she isn’t blinking an eye,” the source added.
According to the tabloid’s unnamed source, Lopez and Rodriguez want to fill their Malibu home with exotic flowers and welcome their guests with Krug champagne, gourmet hors d’oeuvres and lobster from Maine. “The meal will be catered by a celebrity chef and finished off with a multi-tiered wedding cake decorated with edible flowers,” the suspicious source added.
While Lopez and Rodriguez have millions to spend for a wedding as lavish as that, the report cannot be true. Lopez herself revealed in an earlier interview that she and her fiancé had not started planning their wedding yet because of their busy schedules. The singer said that soon after they got engaged, they worked right away and would be busy for the rest of the year. In fact, they have not even decided on their wedding date yet.
It is also unlikely that Lopez and Rodriguez are going for a beach wedding in Malibu because Lopez made it clear in a recent interview that she would love to get married in a church. “I’d like a big wedding,” she said. “I’d like to get married in a church this time. Never been married in a church,” she added.
In the same interview, she said that the wedding will be soon but not very soon. “Soon, not soon-soon but next year,” she said, confirming that their big day will arrive sometime in 2020.
Lopez and Rodriguez have been together for three years now. Their wedding will be Lopez’s fourth.
