Yesterday Apple revealed a holiday-themed TV ad for their flagship smartphone, the iPhone 5s. The video features holiday memories in the form of a video shared over Apple's AirPlay and also showcases the devices video and photo capturing capabilities. The emotional video plays "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" in the background as a young boy seems to be preoccupied with his iPhone 5s while his family is engaging in holiday activities such as: decorating Christmas cookies, snowball fights, and decorating a Christmas tree.

Later in the ad, the video footage is played back to the family over AirPlay. "Happy Holidays" is displayed at the end of the video. In the past Apple has releases a new video during each holiday season and in 2012, the company focused on the iPad and FaceTime. While In 2011, the holiday commercial featured Santa using Siri on an iPhone 4S. While the previous Apple holiday-themed TV ads were more product focused, the newest holiday advert focuses on iPhone users and the way their devices enhance their lives, which has been Apple's .

A Tweet from Apple marketing chief Phil Schiller highlighting the new ad tweeting, "Happy Holidays! "Misunderstood" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImlmVqH_5HM" and sharing the link to the commercial. In addition to the commercial, Apple has posted the full holiday video in the ad on its YouTube page. According to the video's description, the "Harris family home movie" was shot entirely on the iPhone 5s. Watch both the TV ad and the longer video below and let us know what you think.
