Apple launched its latest operating system iOS 7, and eager iPhone users made a mad rush to download the new software. Almost immediately social media began to swell with complaints from frustrated users complaining they could not download iOS 7. Users attempting to download the software to their iPads or iPhones have received messages saying iOS 7 was not able to install or download correctly. Apple designer Jonathan Ive called iOS 7 "an important new direction," when the software update was first announced.
The iOS 7 downloading or installing problems are believed to be caused by too many users trying to download the product from the Apple servers. One message downloaders are hit with reads "Software Update Failed: An error occurred whilst downloading iOS 7.0." Despite the belief the issue stemmed from a surge of people downloading the update, the Apple service page said their services were running smoothly. The iOS 7 update is larger than past upgrades and will take up a lot of space on your phone.
The update can also have an impact on your device's battery life. Ars Technica did a review of iOS 7 saying "Safari in iOS 7 is all about reducing clutter-it increases the amount of screen space you can use for actual Web browsing while keeping all of the browser features accessible... With iOS 7, mobile Safari finally joins the desktop version (and most other modern browsers) in fusing the address bar and search bar into a single box. The rest of the top bar is all about using pixels efficiently."
Business Insider urges those having a hard time with their download to stay calm and remember "This happens every year Apple releases a new version of iOS." BI also suggests waiting until the rush is over before downloading the updated software. If you decide that you have to have the update right away be warned that it may take some time to download. The two methods you can use to upgrade your Apple device include using your WiFi connection or plugging your i-device into your computer and downloading through iTunes.
