Apple has jumped in on the Black Friday frenzy - but have not announced which of its gadgets will be discounted for the shopping day.

Today, Apple announced its "one-day Apple shopping event," which is scheduled to take place starting at midnight on Nov. 23.

"Come to the Apple Online Store for a special one-day holiday shopping event," Apple said. "You'll find great iPad, iPod and Mac holiday gift ideas, all with free shipping."

But, don't expect Apple's products to be deeply slashed for the unofficial shopping holiday. Apple usually gives 10 percent off its items and sometimes, its new products rarely get discounts.

And, Jill Schlesinger of Money Watch lists Apple's iPad mini as one of the 10 items NOT to buy on Black Friday.

"While there may be an iPad mini promotion out there, chances are the price will remain close to the current $329," Schlesinger wrote. "Early adopters should be aware that the iPad mini is fairly close to the iPad 2, and that's the version that is likely to see a steep Black Friday discount."

Retailers like Walmart will sell the iPad 2 for its regular price but will throw in a store gift card.

When you shop at the Apple Online store during the one-day event, the purchases are eligible for free personal engraving, signature gift wrapping, free shipping and easy returns.

Apple does not plan to open in its stores before sunrise, but will have extended holiday hours.

If you're into getting a deal off of Apple's products, MacMall has a 36-hour early Black Friday "blowout" that ends on Wednesday, Nov. 21 at noon. The online store promises customers savings of up to $549 off Macs, tablets and more.
