Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez revealed her net worth after a MAGA supporter accused her of "getting kickbacks" from the US Agency for International Development (USAID).

"You are totally making things up. I'm not even worth $1 million. Nor even $500k. I don't even own a house! I am one of the lowest net worth members of Congress, trade no stock, and take no outside income," Ocasio-Cortez wrote in a follow-up X post on Wednesday.

"My filings are public. I loathe corruption, and your lying is disgusting," she added.

The accusation against AOC was made by X user @MilaLovesJoe, who called for President Donald Trump to investigate "who in the government has been getting kickbacks from USAID."

"For instance, @aoc has been in Congress for six years. She makes $174K/yr. She is worth $30 MIL. The ONLY way that happens is kickbacks," she continued.

The American agency has been in the news since Elon Musk called it "a criminal organization" and disclosed that the Department of Government Efficiency was working to shut it down.

The USAID was founded by former President John F. Kennedy and oversees more than $50 billion in civilian foreign aid and development assistance, making it one of the largest official aid agencies in the world.
