According to Border Report, he has a criminal history of child cruelty, assault of a family member, among other crimes. "In just 1 week, 2 criminals on Texas' 10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants list were captured and put behind bars," Abbott said Thursday in a post on X.

Two weeks ago another person featured on the list was arrested in Houston. The person was question is Servando Trejo Duran Jr., 62, who was wanted for violating his parole in connection with his original crime, murder with a deadly weapon.

According to a release by the state's Department of Public Safety (DPS) he was taken into custody in Baytown. The outlet recalled that he has committed several crimes over 40 years and was deported in 2009.

However, he was again arrested in February 2023 by the Deer Park Police Department for tampering with a government record and released on bond. Weeks later, the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles issued an arrest warrant for parole violation, the crime for which he was currently wanted.

Texas released the list in Early June. All of its member are of Latino origin and have been accused of crimes ranging from aggravated sexual assault of a child to murder with a deadly weapon.

In a press release accompanying the list, Governor Abbott said that the Joe Biden administration "dismantled every effective border policy his predecessor put into place," which resulted in "record high levels of illegal immigration, including dangerous criminals and terrorists who are a threat to the public safety of our state and our nation."

"Texas is a law-and-order state, and with the help of our fellow Texans, we will ensure that the illegal immigrants on this list are taken off our streets and put behind bars to keep our communities safe," the document added.

Authorities have highlighted that all tips are anonymous regardless of how they are submitted and they shouldn't attempt to apprehend the wanted people on their own.
