Rovio has just announced that the sequel to widely popular mobile game "Angry Birds: Star Wars." The new "Star Wars" version of "Angry Birds" will fling into mobile devices around the world on September 19 complete with a range of toy figures made by Hasbro that will interact with the game.

According to Rovio Entertainment the first "Angry Birds: Star Wars" game has been downloaded more than 100 million times since its release in November 2012.

"Angry Birds" will now incorporate "Telepods." Devices that will allow players to transport their physical toy into the game, similar to the "Skylander" video game.

The game will feature more than 30 characters from the Star Wars films. Players who purchase one of the action figures will be able to scan the toy using their smartphones or tablets then play with the character in the game.

Rovio says "Angry Birds: Star Wars 2" will also produce a range of new toys, clothing, accessories, books and plush toys as well as the Telepods figures.

The "Angry Birds" games are now pushing close to one billion downloads since the games release in December 2009. The game series ended 2012 with 263 million monthly active players. Seems like Rovio's "Angry Birds" franchise is unstoppable. How many more downloads will this next installment of the hit game garnish?
