Angelique Boyer had a rocky 2014 year with a break-up from her long-time boyfriend to the loss of her mother. The year started off great for the 26-year-old actress as she starred in the ratings hit "Lo Que La Vida Me Robó" along Sebastián Rulli. The telenovela proved to be a massive success following the flop of "La Tempestad" that starred William Levy and Ximena Navarrete. Both México and the U.S. fell in love with the massive chemistry between the leads and ridiculous but exciting plotline this update of "Bodas De Odio" was. During this time, there were rumors that the stars of the primetime soap were in a heated relationship. How could this be if Boyer and Televisa producer José Alberto Castro were in a relationship?
Things turned sour in March when the couple released a joint statement on Twitter announcing their split after a 3-year relationship. "Through this medium we want to inform you that after a marvelous relationship full of love, it has become our decision to end it," said the letter. "In this moment in our lives we need to confront responsibilities that don't allow us to maintain, how it should be, our love. We ask for your understanding and respect so that no speculation arises. We will not make any other statement." The couple had met when Castro cast her as the lead of his production of "Teresa." Ironically he also cast Rulli to star opposite of Boyer in that same telenovela. No reason was given for the split and days after the announcement Angelique had only but kind words to say about José Alberto. "He is a great man and very important to me," she said.
In June more bad news followed the French beauty when her mother, Sylvie Rousseau, died after battling with cardiac complications for weeks and undergoing several surgeries. Production of "Lo Que La Vida Me Robó" stopped to allow Boyer to mourn. To cope with the passing of her mother Angelique shared her thoughts with her followers on Twitter. "It is the biggest blow to the heart that I have ever received, I miss her so much as I never imagined I could," the letter read. "I still want to say farewell to her, but I can't. I don't know if there is something after death, I don't know if my mother is still alive somewhere else besides our hearts. If she can see us, I don't know. It wasn't important before, but today it is."
"Today I wish with all strength that she can continue watching over us, that she can continue watching us grow, my brother and myself, to follow her greatest love for 33 years and see how we continue with our lives with her teachings, with her love, always having her present. In the most sad night of my life I saw right in front of me how the strongest women I've ever known left. I have never found someone like her in movies nor books. She was my MOTHER. I never imagined that picture in my life. There will never be enough words to express the sorrow that a being so important in my life provokes. I want to see you happy again mom. I miss you."
A month later rumors picked up again that it was a fact Boyer and Rulli were in a relationship, but neither wanted to confirm it as the telenovela was still on the air. Photogs had captured the couple together on a number of occasions away from the television sets of their production. "I have not seen, no, I don't know, they will not leave us alone and they will continue, it doesn't matter, they will continue seeing us together," the actress told reporters. "We are friends, so it doesn't matter." Sebastián Rulli also opened up about gossip around a possible relationship between them. "I am not bothered at all, the truth is that it doesn't bother me, I know who I am, I know what I do and what I don't," Rulli said. "As long as I know and the people that surround me and the people that matter to me. I think it doesn't influence anybodies life what happens to me and what I have been through I have learned to be stronger."
It was in September when the pair made the official announcement that they were dating. After weeks and weeks of denying the rumor Rulli posted the following message on Twitter: “First partners, then friends and thank God’s time, which is perfect, now we’re together by the love we feel for each other and we would like to keep walking together on that path. With our feet on the ground and our eyes on the moon. We’re a couple!” Rulli and Boyer had been touring the country with numerous plays and they couldn't deny their relationship any longer. We could say that Boyer lived a telenovela ending to 2014 as she went through some struggles but ultimately is at a good place in her life, seemingly and looking from the outside. We hope 2015 brings her much joy and more happiness to her life.
