Angelique Boyer and José Alberto Castro have split after a three-year relationship. The 25-year-old "Lo Que La Vida Me Robó" actress and 53-year-old producer released a joint statement following their split that they posted on Twitter. "Through this medium we want to inform you that after a marvelous relationship full of love, it has become our decision to end it," said the letter. "In this moment in our lives we need to confront responsibilities that don't allow us to maintain, how it should be, our love. We ask for your understanding and respect so that no speculation arises. We will not make any other statement."
Boyer and Castro's relationship started when the actress was cast as the star of the producer's telenovela "Teresa." There were rumors that the couple were together but nothing was confirmed until the end of the production. The romance was controversial due to the more than 25 year age difference. For Boyer it proved to be more difficult as her parents opposed the relationship and subsequently caused a drift between her and her family. Angelique's mother underwent cardiac surgery in the middle of last year and as her daughter she supported her even though they were not in the best of terms.
Early this year, Boyer's mother has continued to be ill, which has anguished the telenovela star as she wants to be by her side but her work commitments keep her away. Angelique is the star of Televisa's primetime and most watched telenovela, "Lo Que La Vida Me Robó" which she stars alongside Sebastián Rulli and Luis Roberto Guzmán. Due to the success of the series the network extended its run and it will now end in August when it was previously planned to end in May. Castro is also busy at work preparing his next project titled "La Malquerida" that has no confirmed lead yet, but names like Lucero, Victoria Ruffo and Cecilia Suarez have been circulating. Are you sad that Angelique Boyer and José Alberto Castro split?
