Last month, it was reported here on Latin Times that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt could be facing a lengthy legal battle ahead as they try to iron out the details on how to divide their massive matrimonial assets, which are estimated to be worth £500 million. Now a recent report reveals that a point of contention just arose — they both want to own the same property located in France.
According to a report by Radar Online, Jolie is changing her stance regarding Chateau Miraval, their wine estate located in Provence, France. While they initially agreed to share the property, Jolie’s recent visit to the chateau made her change her mind, and she now wants to declare it in the final settlement.
“They did have a gentleman’s agreement that they’d share it, since it is a lucrative business enterprise, but when Angie returned to the property, she realized how much she loves it — and how much it would drive Brad crazy if she took it from him,” a source told the publication.
Things would have been a lot easier for Jolie if Pitt is not interested in the same property. Unfortunately, the opposite is true, and he’s just as determined as his ex-wife is to get the chateau for himself.
“Brad loves that place and is very proud of his status as a winemaker, and knows Angie would probably just sell it, or worse, demolish it, just to be nasty,” the tipster added. “He will fight to the end to make sure he gets to keep his Chateau.”
Château Miraval is a 1,000-acre wine estate that they purchased from American businessman Tom Bove for $60 million. However, they turned operations around, and now it’s an award-winning winery, which meant that its value has already double in just a few years.
However, previous reports are in conflict with Radar Online’s recent article, which said that it’s Jolie who might just want to sell it. In a NY Times Post report, it was mentioned that Pitt wants to sell the property, while Jolie wants to keep it.
“He’s anxious to sell, but she wants to keep it as a continuing revenue source,” a source told the publication.
