On April 21, sources reported Andrea Noel had identified Andoni Echave, a popular Mexican TV host and prankster, as her aggressor.

Noel’s lawyer, Karla Michel Salas, told Milenio.com that her client had to turn to her reporter skills in order to find the suspect.

“It was through, as she has mentioned before, social media,” Salas said. “And the investigation itself that she was able to identify the name of her aggressor by analyzing all the videos and images provided, and because she had a previously drawn sketch from the district attorney.”

When the news broke, Echave denied all allegations and declared he was willing to help with Andrea’s case, but he refused to take the blame for a crime he didn’t commit.

On Thursday, Telehit’s “Master Troll” host and Noel announced they were offering a press conference to discuss the current status of the investigation. After Echave presented an enhanced video of the happenings that showed a clearer image of the attacker, Noel had no choice but to declare she was dropping all charges.

“#AndoniNoFue (It was not Andoni) Unfortunately, the files provided by the police connected him to the scene and made it look like him,” Noel wrote on Twitter.

Staying true to his word, Andoni shared his version of the clip, hoping that his fans and followers will help catch this horrible human being.

“Here’s the clip where you can take a closer look at the aggressor,” Echave wrote on social media. “Help us find the guy.”

Noel, an American journalist based in Mexico City, was attacked in the middle of the streets of La Condesa, one of the city’s well-liked neighborhoods, on International Women’s Day (March 8).

“My dress was pulled up and my underwear pulled down in the middle of the street at #Condesa,” she wrote on Twitter after the incident happened. “Sexual assault is not a funny prank. It is an abusive violation.”
