Mexican singer and actress Anahí has responded to the allegations that she and her team cheated on the popular competitive reality show '¿Quién Es la Máscara?'
The accusations have put the popular show produced by TelevisaUnivision under the spotlight. Anahí and Danna Vázquez, a well-known publicist, have both been accused of unethical behavior related to the program's latest season.
The allegations
The scandal began when TV y Novelas published a report claiming that Anahí, a new member of the show, gained unauthorized access to the confidential list of celebrities performing under the masks, with the breach allegedly facilitated by Vázquez.
The publication also cited a source from TelevisaUnivision who said the company's auditing departments have been tasked with conducting a formal investigation. If the accusations are proven true, both women could face serious professional repercussions.
Anahí's response
Anahí issued a public statement vehemently denying the claims. "When I was invited to participate in '¿Quién Es la Máscara?,' I accepted with great joy. Returning to the stages where my career began when I was just two years old was a dream come true," she wrote.
Anahí emphasized her commitment to the program's rules and rejected the notion that she acted in bad faith. "The accusations against me are completely false. I have always respected the guidelines of the production and collaborated in good faith. It's incredibly painful to see my reputation being questioned like this," she stated.
As she approaches 40 years in the entertainment industry, Anahí expressed her determination to protect her career. "My journey has been built on effort and sacrifice, and I will take all necessary legal actions to safeguard my name and reputation," she added.
Danna Vázquez's response
Typically keeping quiet behind the scenes to support her clients, Vázquez also addressed the controversy. In a formal statement, she dismissed the allegations as baseless. "The information shared by TV y Novelas lacks logic and credibility. I never had access to the identities of the celebrities participating in '¿Quién Es la Máscara?,'" she asserted.
Vázquez clarified that she never represented Anahí professionally or played any role in her involvement with the show. "At no point did I provide any information about the program to Anahí," she stated, emphasizing her long-standing reputation built on "hard work and dedication."
She concluded with a strong declaration: "I will defend the truth and my professional integrity against any claim that damages my career."
A possible legal battle
With both Anahí and Vázquez denying the allegations and preparing for potential legal action, the controversy surrounding '¿Quién Es la Máscara?' continues to grow. Fans of the show and the involved parties await further developments, as investigations by TelevisaUnivision promise to shed light on the matter.
