Last week we got to see another very endearing side of actress Ana Ortiz. As the celebrity spokesperson for Merck Consumer Care's “Active Family Project”, Ana represents a cause she believes in, which is to give children and their families the opportunity to live an active lifestyle. In this case they kicked off the “Play Soccer for a Change” campaign in New York City, which follows the same premise but this time through supporting US Youth Soccer. For every like, comment or share on the Active Family Project Facebook page, from August 19th through September 30th, the project will donate $1 to US Youth Soccer, up to $15,000, to go toward soccer equipment and training in underserved communities, giving more families the opportunity to be active together.
The “Ugly Betty” star, who is married to musician Noah Lebenzon, is the mother of two kids, a daughter, 5, and a son, 3. She’s a self-proclaimed soccer mom who believes an active lifestyle is the key to a healthy happy family. Ortiz looked stunning at the kick-off event, wearing skinny jeans, cute top and super-hot pink heels. As expected, she was a natural interacting with the kids and they loved her. She kicked some soccer balls around (yes, in those heels), posed for pics and signed some goodies for the kids.
The event was full of laughter, healthy snacks and drinks and happy moms with their kids. Like we said, this is a cause that is very dear to Ana, as she comes from a political family and loves to help others. Don’t forget to like their Facebook page here!
