Ana Maria Polo and Telemundo probably will need to apologize after a few words the "Caso Cerrado" host expressed last week on her show.

The episode 1,590 of the show was about a Puerto Rican mother that alluded she "rented" her children for US$500. In the middle of the dramatized case program - where people are allegedly paid to participate – Polo said: "I’ll tell you something. I'm going to tell you something very painful. This is a modality in Puerto Rico now. The economic situation is so difficult that people come to sell their children."

After that comment, viewers went to social media to discharge their fury. In addition to all the criticisms, Griselda Colon, created a petition on the Change.org site, to require Polo to apologize for what she said.

"We want to collect signatures so that Dr. Ana Maria Polo publicly apologizes for having made false comments about Puerto Rico,” Colon wrote in the petition. This request is addressed to Telemundo, Government of Puerto Rico and to the media. At the time of publishing, Colon had gathered more than 10,000 signatures.

"It is not true and you have to be very careful with what is said in a public forum. In Puerto Rico, children are not sold!" wrote Ana Lucy Ruiz, in the comments of the petition. "We want an apology," continued Omar Barredo from Gurabo, Puerto Rico.

So far, Polo has not issued any comments on the controversy.
