"Amores Con Trampa" ended Sunday night in México and it included a tribute to the late Joan Sebastian. If you follow the Televisa comedy, you will know that the theme song is graced by "El Rey Del Jaripeo's" voice, which he wrote as well. Spoiler Alert! Spoiler Alert! This piece contains details of the last episode of the Univision telenovela, if you don't want to know what happens during the finale... this is your warning. The Emilio Larrosa production wanted to honor the singer in a very particular way and they invited his son Julián Figueroa to be part of a scene. His appearance came during the double wedding reception for Beto (Aldo Guerra) and Roció (Scarlet Dergal) and Facundo's (Eduardo Yáñez) parents Martina (Irina Areu) and Porfirio (Ignacio López Tarso).
Facundo introduces him as "señorito Julián" and he comes out to sing the theme song. Julián then gave his own rendition of "Amores Con Trampa" as an image of his late father appeared on-screen. At the end of his performance he broke the fourth wall and thanked everyone. It was a beautiful moment of some sort of passing of the torch, but it was slightly awkward as it took us out of the telenovela itself. The intentions were good and we are happy Larrosa did this for all of Joan's fans, we are sure he would've been proud of his son. Originally, the producer had all of the intentions of inviting the "Secreto De Amor" singer to make the appearance himself. Watch the moment down below and tell us what you think!
Elsewhere on "Amores Con Trampa," Isabel (Itatí Cantoral) and Santiago (Ernesto Laguardia) had a death scare when Esteban (Harry Geithner) burned their house down. They were able to escape the burning home and rebuild it and live happily ever after. The Carmona family went back to their roots and loved every single minute of it. Then the story came back to square one. The government gave the family another offer they couldn't resist, this time Facundo wanted to really think things through and not leave the ranch and go to the city without asking his family's opinion. Since they grew up so much in the city and there were more opportunities there, as a family they decided they would sell their land, only half of it. They still wanted to visit their roots during the weekends. It wasn't a particularly exciting finale, but.... THE END! Oh, and Lupillo Rivera also guest-starred!
