Ten stayed and ten left. According to most music journalists and "American Idol" enthusiasts, the lists were just what they had anticipated.

The ten final contestants of Season 12 of "American Idol" were revealed on Thursday night, after a busy week of showoffs, judging and voting, and as it turned out, they did not surprise anybody.

The chosen ones were announced by an off-stage Ryan Seacrest, and run through the stage to perform a victory song to thank the audience.

America saw and America decided. Here are the ten finalists of "American Idol," 2013 edition:

Paul Jolley: The first to be named was, arguably, one of the few, if any, surprises of the night. After his lukewarm performance Wednesday night, Jolley crossed the stage and sang Heart's "Alone," in a flashback to when Carrie Underwood wowed with it in 2004. Judge Keith Urban told him that his rendition was "better than last night. And last night got you through."

Burnell Taylor: The Louisiana native was everybody's bets to move on, and move on, he did. Taylor performed India Arie's "Ready For Love," bringing judge Mariah Carey almost to tears.

"That was impeccable," she said.

Curtis Fincher, Jr.: Another one expected to make it, Fincher, Jr. is, according to Twitter, the most polarizing of the contestants. Not for the judges though, they love him.

"You have never disappointed us," judge Randy Jackson told him after his performance of John Legend's "So High."

Devin Velez: The Spanish speaker brings a multi-ethnic vibe to the competition, which judge Nicki Minaj said, is what has brought him to the final rounds. He sang "The Power Of One" as his victory song.

Lazaro Arbos: The Florida singer has charmed the audience with his good-boy looks and his stutter, which disappears when he sings -- including in his victory performance of "Bridge Over Troubled Water." Keith Urban thinks he is the biggest contender against the girl reign of this edition of Idol.

"He connects with the audience. The votes have really reflected that."

Janelle Arthur: The country singer showed off a great, happy smile while she sang Dierks Bentley's "Home."

"This is the best you've ever sounded," said Minaj after she was done.

Candice Glover: At the sound of her name, Glover did an adorable happy dance and left immediately to take the stage with "Goin' Down," by Mary J. Blige.

"This girl can really sing," said Jackson.

Angie Miller: Arguably the best vocalist of the night, Miller burst into tears after singing "I Was Here," by Beyoncé.

Amber Holcomb: Holcomb sang classic "I Am Every Woman," by Chaka Khan. Carey started off with an ambiguous "I don't know what to say," before saying telling her that she is very talented.

Kree Harrison: The Nashville native performed Susan Tedeschi's "Evidence" as her winner song. It was a solid performance that was left without judgment, because the time was up.

Left behind were Charlie Askew, Nick Boddington, Elijah Liu, Cortez Shaw, Aubrey Cleland, Breanna Steer, Tenna Torres, Adriana Latonio, and this edition's former favorites, Vincent Powell and Zoannette Johnson.
