As Fox struggles to figure out changes for the 2014 season of "American Idol" they are looking at a total overhaul to fix some the shows problems. The major problem being considering is the judging panel. After the addition of Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj, the two divas squabbled throughout the entire length of the season, participating in name calling, yelling and all out cat fights while cameras roll. While "American Idol" still remains a high-rated program, sources have confirmed that Fox is seriously considering is being giving to the idea of replacing one, if not all of the current "American Idol" judges. And it seems like Idol is looking to keep it all in the family and replace the current judges with former contestants.
Sources have also confirmed that both Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson have already been approached about appearing back on "American Idol" as judges. Allegedly Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken are two other names being pondered over by some Fox executives.
Season 13 could feature an alumni judging panel, personally I think this would be a good idea. Who else would be able to judge the singing competition better than contestants who have participated in it? It seems that while Fox has not yet confirmed that "American Idol" will feature some new faces on the judges panel, they haven't really been denying it either.
Kevin Reilly of Fox responded, that "everything is on the table," when asked about the possibility of a change on the judges panel in future seasons. In addition, Randy Jackson gave an on-air goodbye to fans and viewers one the "American Idol" season 12 finale, but you never know, he could be back!
"American Idol" would love to see their favorite contestants as judges, they would be able to catch back with the people they watched transform into superstars. I guess we will just have to see what happens!
