“American Horror Story” has returned with some serious shock and awe for the New Year, and while last night’s episode “The Magical Delights of Stevie Nicks” had it’s fair share of blood, gore and just down right not niceness, next weeks episode will get even dirtier. So what can fans expect from the Coven in 2014? Well to put it simply, a lot! Episode 11 is entitled “Protect the Coven” and if the witches want to stay alive, they will most certainly have to fight. The synopsis reads, “Fiona and Laveau have a deadly face off with The Corporation. Cordelia makes a desperate sacrifice to protect the Coven.” So may things sound good about this episode, first off I really enjoyed when the alpha females of the coven and voodoo where facing off; but now with the two of them working together to save all witches, I am so much more entertained!
The corporation is certainly the new enemy, even though Hank is dead and gone, the witch hunters are still very much alive. With the impeding investigation and real world implications, The Corporation attempts to swiftly cover Hank’s tracks. The audience will learn more about Cordelia’s father-in-law, Harrison Renard, who knows that public enemy number one, aka the witches, are on their way to annihilating him and the Delphi Trust. Despite the pressure the witches are putting on the hunters, new photos from episode 11 see the coven in mourning once again over the death of Nan. With another witch died on her watch, Cordelia to snap out of her self-pitying stage and develops a plan to stop her destructive mother once and for all and “Protect the Coven.”
While a witch may die in the upcoming episode, another will be revealed to be alive and well. Oh yeah, you guessed it, Queenie is alive! In a recent spoiler report, it is revealed that Cordelia is working desperately to regain control of the coven and her young witches, meaning that she will also be trying to regain the trust of a “embittered Queenie.” So now that we have Queenie back, what is going on with Madam LaLaurie? Episode 11 will begin with a flashback of the sickly sweet Delphine participating in her favorite pastime-torture. While we already know of her affinity for torturing former slaves, fans will get to see just how the nauseating obsession began when LaLaurie first moved to New Orleans in 1830. We will also get to catch back up with her in modern times, while we are still unsure if she is going to be reunited with her body we do know that she returns to a “horrifying pastime of old that will make the hours bearable for her again.” While we initially assumed this must have been her old torturing ability, we are not so sure how she will do that without hands?
