"The Amazing Race" returns! CBS's grueling competition series returns for it's 23rd season, with 11 new teams. The teams of two will embark on a journey around the world in a race to win the coveted $1 million prize.

The 23rd season will follow the new cast as they travel through our continents and nine countries, spanning more than 35,000 miles. Some highlights of the race while be when the pairs, paraglide above the skies of Iquique, Chile, endure a bone-chilling plunge in Norway and buckle up for Formula One Racing in Abu Dhabi.

"The Amazing Race" will be bringing back one of its surprises from last season -- the Double Express Pass. This twist in the race allows whichever team wins the first leg of the race will receive two Express Passes, one to keep, and one they must give to another team by the fifth leg of the race.

The new season of "The Amazing Race" premieres Sunday, Sept. 29, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS. Scroll through the list below to meet the new cast including, former NFL teammates, basketball wives, the "Queens of Bingo" and even married ER doctors.
