Far-right radio host and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones announced that he would be accepting an "offer" he allegedly received to serve as President-elect Donald Trump's press secretary.

Jones took to X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday to share the news, posting an accompanying photo of him standing in front of a large truck holding a firearm. There has been no official confirmation from Trump's team regarding a position being offered to Jones within the president-elect's second administration.

Users quickly took to the replies of Jones' post with their thoughts, with some voicing their enthusiasm and support for Jones taking on the role.

"Please make Alex Jones part of the Trump admin 🙏🏼" wrote one user.

"I approve. As long as you use the word 'retribution' in every response to questions from the White House press corps," concurred another.

Some even took the opportunity to criticize the current White House Press Secretary under the Biden administration, Karine Jean-Pierre.

"I think it'd be cool but I believe a Tucker Carlson would give the liberal media the hardest time. After KJP, EVERYONE ON THE PLANET is qualified though," wrote one user.

Conservative commentator Candace Owens has also been vocal about the possibility of Jones assuming the role, endorsing him for the role and offering him her full support.

"I want to be very clear about Alex Jones... If all he needs is someone to pay the salary, leave it to me. I'll get a second job to pay whatever salary he wants to be the press secretary," she said on her podcast.

"He is more than equipped for it. He has run a show for decades... and they hate him, the deep state hates Alex Jones with a vengeance," Owens continued.

Jones made headlines earlier this year when he was ordered to dismantle the media platform he created, Infowars, in order to pay off the $1.5 billion he owes the families of the victims of the Sandy Hook shooting after losing defamation and emotional distress lawsuits levied against him.

Following the ruling, fans of Jones began urging billionaire and staunch Trump-supporter Elon Musk to purchase Infowars, which will be dismantled and auctioned off asset by asset, and re-hire Jones to run the platform.

A long-time Trump supporter himself, Jones has repeatedly publicly commended the president-elect.
