"Netas Divinas" ("Divine Truths") had been missing a woman on the panel after Consuelo Duval left the talk show over a contract dispute with Televisa. Several names had been mentioned to take on the fifth seat and the lucky personality taking her place is Alessandra Rosaldo. The 42-year-old singer and actress was on set today, taping her first episode as an official co-host. "I am the new neta (truth teller), I am happy, nervous and excited," Rosaldo said in a statement. "I am profoundly grateful for this opportunity that I have at Televisa Networks and for the good vibes that I have received." Alessandra announced back in January that she is expecting her first child with husband Eugenio Derbez and undoubtedly her pregnancy will be chronicled on the talker.
"It was a great surprise, and with no doubt she is a complete woman, succesful, dedicated and fune that will be a great addition to the team," fellow co-host Gloria Calzada said. Yolanda Andrade said she was excited to receive both "netas" as Alessandra is expecting a baby girl, while Isabel Lascurain said she was happy that a new woman that she considers a divine woman was going to be part of the cast. Although Rosaldo is pregnant, that has not slowed down her workload. She continues to tour Mexico with Sentidos Opuestos, while planning on a move to Los Angeles to settle with her husband as he finds new opportunities in Hollywood.
Consuelo Duval reacted to the news shortly after Alessandra was announced as the new co-host, "The truth has settled in that I am no longer in 'Netas.' I had to sit down. Now I know how a heart sounds when it breaks." Before the news broke Duval teased her followers that she knew who was going to replace her, "I know who the new neta is. I am not going to tell you! Neener neener! I love her profoundly and crazily and I know that she will be and will make you all happy." Earlier this year, Consuelo decided not to renew her contract with Televisa and subsequently let go from the talk show she co-hosted. Duval clarified the situation and said she was not fired "I simply stopped being important to them [Televisa]. They are not going to invisted in comedy this year. Those were the exact words, but guess what? I bet on comedy and plan to invest on it."
