Alejandro Sanz rarely gives the media something to talk about, this time, the Spanish singer decided to open up about one of the darkest times in his life. During an appearance on the show “Viajando con Chéster” he revealed that he was blackmailed and drugged by two people that worked for him.

Sanz confesses that back in 2007, two of his employees, who were married to each other, threatened and blackmailed him. At the time, the singer was divorcing Jaydy Michel and he didn’t want to make things public, but the couple kept saying they were willing to release the information and publish intimate photos of the “Corazón Partío” performer if he didn’t give them 500,000 USD.

In the end, Sanz decided to go to the police, “I told him (the employee), you are starting this fight, but I’m going to win it. I’m going to tell you when this fight will end.” The bohemian Spaniard declared that it was all a surprise for him, since the two of them had been working for him for a long time, and he thought he could trust them. “I was hurt, and surprised. I never thought that people could do such things, to be able to tell lies, and to blackmail me. I trusted too much.”

He also confessed that he was vulnerable during his divorce and that made him an easy target, “The woman would put sleeping pills in my food. It was like a scary movie, I swear.”

Sanz says that this experience hasn’t stopped him from being able to trust people again, he is being the better person, “There is one thing that is very clear to me: No one is going to teach me not to trust. I rather trust and make a mistake, than having to live in fear.”

We are so glad that Alejandro Sanz made it through this whole experience safe and sound and that he is still looking at things with a positive perspective. Respect.
