Former Argentine Cabinet Chief Alberto Fernández has been somewhat out of the public eye since his 2008 resignation. But, the Justicialist politician is back in the spotlight after making very public comments regarding the upcoming presidential election in October 2015.
Alberto Fernández said he is supporting a possible bid by Daniel Scioli to run for the high office: "We must join forces in order to [continue] Peronism!" Fernandez told the Argentine press, referring to forming a possible coalition with senators Baldomero Olivera and Osvaldo Álvarez de Goicoechea in addition to Daniel Scioli.
His support for the current governor of Buenos Aires Province shifts the electorate's concentration to Scioli, who already holds a powerful post in the capital region. If he indeed decides to run in 2015, he would be considered more than a probable contender to continue the center-left politics like those of current President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, who is term-limited.
