A member of the "Amish Mafia" has been imprisoned. Alan Beiler, who stars in Discovery Channel's series "Amish Mafia" was sentenced to 3-23 months in prison following a decision by the Perry Count Court in Pennsylvania.

According to police, Beiler, who is a Lancaster County resident, led them on a dangerous car chase when officers attempted to pull him over citing an expired car registration. According to reports, the 35-year-old reality star drove against traffic and caused a pursuing state trooper to crash and suffer a concussion.

Beiler pleaded guilty in May to charges of attempting to elude police, drug possession and driving with a suspended license. However, the Washington Post reported that Beiler's attorney Mark Forrest Walmer says his client has turned around his life and has been drug-free for a year. The incident for which he is now serving prison time occurred last summer.

According to Discovery Channel, the "Amish Mafia" is an organized, small group that provide protection and justice to the Amish residents in Lancaster, PA. The group was created because some resident are "untrusting of outside law enforcement."
