An Alabama husband and father of six is under arrest for allegedly hiring a hitman to kill his family after years of making threats and attempts on their lives.
Court records obtained by People allege Mohammad A.H. Mohammed, 63, was looking to find someone to "take care of" his spouse and adult children. A person he asked repeatedly informed law enforcement, at which point an FBI agent went undercover as a hitman for hire.
According to the affadavit, Mohammed instructed the agent posing as a hitman, "You pick and choose who you take out... Start with one. Take your time."
The documents say Mohammed made a $550 downpayment and offered the undercover agent $20,000 to kill his wife and $5,000 per child.
Court records indicate Mohammed and his wife married in March 2021 and are involved in active divorce proceedings. Since their marriage, Mohammed has made multiple appearances in court proceedings related to domestic violence.
In November 2021, three protection orders were issued to restrain Mohammed from abuse against his wife and two of the children. The wife's petition claims that he "said he wanted to shoot my daughter between the eyes."
The petition goes on to allege that Mohammed would "threaten to lock us in the basement and kill us. He always threatens me and my children with violence. He has put his hands on my kids and sent them to the emergency room. He has put a gun and knife against my kids heads and throats. He has shot guns at us."
He was charged later that month with domestic violence for an assault on one of the daughters, but those charges were dismissed.
In April 2022 Mohammad was charged with stalking when he violated the protective orders to place tracking devices on the family members' cars.
In 2023, on four separate occasions, vehicles belonging to Mohammed's family were set on fire. The undercover agent alleges that Mohammed sent him images of the burned cars.
Mohammed is now in federal custody, charged with the use of interstate commerce facilities in the commission of murder-for-hire.
