The former President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad made a speech on Sunday stating that one of his proudest achievements was denying the reality of the Holocaust and the mass genocide of six million Jews by Adolph Hitler.

Ahmadinejad told the people listening to his speech that the denial of the Holocaust which he has often referred to as a "fairy tale" was one of his greatest achievements because he had the courage to bring up a subject that is "taboo in the West."

"That was a taboo topic that no one in the West allowed to be heard." Ahmadinejad said.

The outgoing President of Iran claims that by bringing up this subject he "broke the spine of the Western capital regime."

Since taking the Presidency of Iran in 2005 Ahmadinejad has made numerous remarks about the Holocaust being a lie and believed that Israel should be "erased from the map like a stain of shame." The former president also blamed Israel for the treatment of Palestinians and believed they are innocent victims of Israeli and Western oppression.

According to the Times of Israel Ahmadinejad called on the Arabs of the world to come together to inflict punishment on Israel for the way it has treated Palestine.

Ahmadinejad's comments have been the source of tension between Iran and its neighboring countries and has almost started a war.

Iran's President-Elect, Hassan Rouhani will take over next month when Ahmadinejad's second term is up. The incoming President calls Ahmadinejad's Holocaust denial and aggressive language toward Israel "hate rhetoric."
