Adriana Barraza Breast Cancer: Mexican Actress Undergoing Chemo, Feeling Optimistic

Mexican actress, acting teacher and director Adriana Barrazo has been diagnosed with breast cancer. TVNotas reports that the 59-year-old star has in fact been diagnosed with the disease earlier in the year ---before her colleague and friend, Lorena Rojas, passed away in February due to the same illness. The publication also reports that Barrazo, an Academy Award and Golden Globe nominee, has been undergoing chemotherapy.

The actress, who starred in films such as "Amores Perros" and "Babel," feels very optimistic as she battles the cancer. TVNotas also informs that she's at her home in Miami, Fla., where she's being taken care of by her family members and 54-year-old husband Arnoldo Pipke, to whom she's been married to since 2005.
