Every kid dreams of being a superhero. But very few are lucky enough to have their dream come true. Not so for James Hashimoto. The little tike's dad Daniel is an animator at Dreamworks Pictures. And, thanks to some pretty amazing special effects magic on Adobe AfterEffects, Daniel has transformed his son into a superhero with some pretty incredible powers. In a series of videos on a Youtube channel called 'Action Movie Kid,' James is transformed into a superhero with some pretty incredible powers.
Daniel Hashimoto told the Creator's Project that the inspiration for the videos came from James himself. "Upon viewing the lightsaber and "Iron Man" videos," Hashimoto said, "My son replied, 'What if I did that for real-sies, Dad?'" Of course, Hashimoto couldn't resist the chance to make his son's dreams become reality, at least on screen. James can be seen disappearing into a puddle, wielding a lightsaber, firing a lazer gun, leaping over pools of lava and being whisked up into the air with a Batman-style grappling gun.
James Hashimoto is simply adorable - who wouldn't want to be rescued by such a cute superhero? But he also seems to be able to transform everyday objects into powerful, inter-galactic space ships. In one video, James is playing in a McDonalds playground when all of a sudden the rocket-like playpen becomes a rocket for real and blasts into space! In another, a toy spaceship launches into hyperdrive and takes off into the unknown. Daniel says that using Adobe AfterEffects has become his "new favorite hobby."
