If you are feeling the withdrawals of "El Señor De Los Cielos" and still need your narco-novela fix, fret not because Telemundo has got you covered with the "Señora Acero" premiere. The series starring Blanca Soto revolves around Tijuana native Sara Aguilar Bermúdez who was the happiest woman in the world until the day her husband and father of her child Vicente Acero a deputy chief, was murdered. From that day on, Sara goes on the run to save herself and her young son. What no one imagines is that this ordinary woman will be taken under the wing of Mexico’s top mafia bosses, whom she charms with the two most powerful weapons she has: her beauty and her intelligence. Sara will ascend through the ranks of this male-dominated world, shaking the foundations of the Mexican state.
Episode 1 of "Señora Acero" premieres tonight on the Spanish-language network and these are the reasons it's a must-watch: 1. Blanca Soto In A New Network: Soto became known to Hispanic audiences thanks to Univision's "Eva Luna" which was a massive hit in primetime for the network. That production followed the ill-fated "El Talismán," but then she left to México to star opposite Fernando Colunga in "Porque El Amor Manda," which became another hit in her career. Telemundo took notice and signed her up with a juicy contract for this new so-called "super-series." 2. Blanca Soto Might Actually Know How To Act: Blanca is a beautiful woman and fills the screen with her charming face, but let's be honest, she is not the most expressive actress and her acting suffers a lot. With "Señora Acero" being produced by Argos, which has some of the best directors, we will possibly see her.......act.
3. Strong Woman: "El Señor De Los Cielos" objectifies women and it's disgusting how they treat them. With a woman being the protagonist, hopefully we can see her objectify men for a change. 4. Roberto Stopello Writing: Stopello took charge of "La Reina Del Sur" and managed to create a successful telenovela, with "Señora Acero" we are sure he will do some justice to the waning genre that has become overpopulated in recent times. 5. "El Señor De Los Cielos" Cameo: Rumor has it that Aurelio Casillas might be making a cameo during the initial episodes of this series, tying both characters in the same world, that will be exciting. 6. Possible Sequel: We've heard through the grapevine that if this first series is a hit, a sequel might be produced just like "El Señor De Los Cielos." Make sure to watch "Señora Acero" premiering tonight at 10pm ET/PT on Telemundo. Are you excited to watch this new series?
