Buchanan’s Whisky and global musician and brand ambassador, J Balvin, just launched #BuchanansMixes -- a new digital program that highlights the versatility of the brand's whiskey and celebrates people just by adding flavor, style, and color to the world.
The brand tapped bartender Danilo Bozovic and the reggaeton superstar to mix it up with Buchanan’s by challenging them to create the perfect cocktail and the perfect rhyme with three prompts: two simple ingredients and an occasion.
The brand has also teamed up with NYC Bartender Natasha Bermudez who is helping us to taste the rainbow and teaching us not only how to make the show’s signature Verde cocktail, but she also shared with Latin Times the recipes of the other cocktails she especially created para la fiesta virtual of J Balvin.
Bermudez crafted a range of cocktails inspired by J Balvin’s COLORES album and his upcoming global AR concert “Behind the COLORES Presented by Buchanan’s Whisky,” taking place on YouTube, Saturday, June 20th at 9 PM ET. “I’m excited to have Buchanan’s Whisky join me in bringing COLORES to the world at a time when we need good vibras the most,” said J Balvin. “Buchanan’s has always supported the communities and individuals impacting culture and I’m glad to have been able to launch #BuchanansMixes with them to continue raising a glass to the innovators of our culture through a series of COLORES-inspired cocktails.”

VERDE
Ingredients
1.5 oz Buchanan’s 12-Year-Old DeLuxe
1 oz Simple Syrup
1 oz Lemon Juice
1/2 Tsp Matcha Powder 5 Mint leaves
3 oz Soda
Preparation
Add Buchanan’s, mint, matcha, lemon juice, simple syrup, and ice into a shaker and shake vigorously for 10 seconds. In a highball glass add ice, club soda, then strain drink into a highball. Garnish with a mint sprig.
MORADO
Ingredients
1.5 oz Buchanan’s 12-Year-Old DeLuxe .5 oz Lemon juice
5 oz Simple Syrup 3 Blackberries
3 oz Ginger beer
Preparation
Add Buchanan’s, blackberries, lemon juice, honey syrup, and ice into a shaker and shake vigorously for 10 seconds. In a highball glass add ice, ginger beer, strain drink into a highball.
AZUL
Ingredients
1.5 oz Buchanan’s 12-Year-Old DeLuxe
1 oz 1:1 Honey Syrup
.25 oz Lime Juice
4 oz Coconut Soda Water 5 Blueberries
Preparation
Muddle blueberries in a cocktail shaker and add honey syrup, lime juice, and Buchanan’s. Shake and strain into a rocks glass with ice. Top with coconut soda water. Garnish with blueberries.
ROJO
Ingredients
1.5 oz Buchanan’s 12-Year-Old DeLuxe .75 oz Simple Syrup
5 oz Lemon Juice
5 Frozen Raspberries (Or fresh)
1 drop Vanilla Extract
Mint and citrus wheel for garnish
Preparation
Muddle raspberries and add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into a rocks glass with ice and garnish.
AMARILLO
Ingredients
1.5 oz Buchanan’s 12-Year-Old DeLuxe
1 oz Pineapple juice .75 Lemon juice
.5 Simple syrup
.25 oz Orange Liqueur
Preparation
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into a highball glass. Garnish with 3 pineapple leaves and a lemon wheel.
ROSA
Ingredients
1.5 oz Buchanan’s 12-Year-Old DeLuxe
2 oz Your favorite Rosé .5 oz Lemon juice
5 oz Simple syrup
3 Dashes bitters
Preparation
Add Buchanan’s, Rosé, lemon juice, simple syrup, and bitters to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into a highball glass over fresh ice. Top with ginger beer. Garnish with pink rose petals and grapefruit wheel.
