Season 2 of "El Señor De Los Cielos" ended this week and a third season is underway. We are completely sure Season 3 is going to suck and this is why: 1. No More "Chacorta": The main reason that we are upset and know that Season 3 will suck is because "Chacorta" will not be part of the story anymore. Raúl Méndez, the actor that portrayed the character, announced that he and Telemundo could not come into terms in re-upping his contract. We don't know if they will recast and have another actor in his place or just write the character out. Either way, if it's not Méndez, we don't care to see this. 2. All The Colombianos Are Gone: What the hell Telemundo? Why would you get rid of all the fun characters of the series? El Cabo (Robinson Diaz), Matilde (Sara Corrales) and Lorelei (Manuela Gonzalez) have all died or written out. They added some humor with their characters and gave authenticity to the telenovela that had settings in Colombia. They were all recognizable actors too, now the cast looks so bland and boring.
3. 3 Seasons, Really?: When we initially got sucked into watching this series, we thought it was going to be one sweet season just like "La Reina del Sur." Telemundo lied to us and all the time planned this out to be a multiple-season telenovela just like "El Capo." We forgave them because the Season 1 cliffhanger was so good we wanted to know what happened. Season 2 came along and it kind of just flowed, but it wasn't as exciting as the first season when there was an actual story to tell. A third season just seems like overkill now and they will definitely jump the shark and kill more familiar characters. How many times can Aurelio escape prison and continue killing people. Granted, in real life, these people run loose, but as a series on television it can get tiring and we're not sure we cant to go into a third season knowing it's just going to be a waste of time.
4. Beloved Characters Gone: The characters that we loved and escaped death after the first season were on the second season, just to get killed off. So everyone can die, except for "El Señor De Los Cielos." Everyone is expendable and we can't handle the emotional distress this brings into our lives. We already miss Ximena (Ximena Herrera), Betico (Ruy Senderos) and many other beloved characters we lost throughout the season. 5. Quality Of Actors Is Lacking: After an impressive first season of actors forming part of this project, the quality of actors went downhill for Season 2. This is not a dig at new talent wanting to have a chance, but as an audience member we want to see a fair balance of new actors and familiar faces. Sometimes it seems that they just cast any actor that is available without properly seeing if they fit the part. With so much talent being killed off between the first two seasons and because these "narco-novelas" have crossover potential with other series, the casting director has reached the bottom of the barrel. We can only imagine how bad Season 3 will be. Will you be watching Season 3 of "El Señor De Los Cielos?"
