A Texas girl is on life support after allegedly enduring months of abuse by her godmother, who most recently beat her over a potty training incident, according to a report.

In September, four-year-old Londlyn Anthony's father, Kerrick Anthony, entrusted Tameria Barnett, 30, with temporary guardianship while relocating, KHOU reported.

"Due to me moving and transferring to a different apartment I gave her temporary custodial guardianship," Anthony told the outlet. "She just went MIA, she blocked me on all social media. Ignored my calls. Family members pointed me in her direction, her mom appointed her as the godmother."

Barnett, a friend of Londlyn's jailed mother allegedly began abusing the child, citing potty training frustrations as a trigger.

Investigators discovered that Barnett beat the child every day with cords, belts, and her hands.

Londlyn remains in critical condition at Texas Children's Hospital, with a traumatic brain injury, bruised ribs, and multiple other injuries. She requires life support and has screws implanted in her skull to monitor brain activity.

On November 29, Barnett was arrested and then released on a $100,000 bond. She is required to wear an electronic monitor and avoid contact with the victim or minors.

Barnett is scheduled to appear in court again in February 2025.
