A pit bull pack killed a Missouri husband over the weekend after viciously attacking him and eating him alive.
Dennis Moore's wife claimed she did not see her husband's body because "the dogs ate him up to the point where his body was decayed."
Melvina Moore, Moore's wife, who spoke to NBC 5 (via Crime Online), just the head was left after the "gruesome" attack.
"The dogs ate him up to the point where his body was decayed. They can't show me his body. They didn't eat his head up," Moore told the outlet.
According to reports, the event took place between 11:30 p.m. on Saturday and 6:30 a.m. on Sunday in the 4800 block of San Francisco Avenue in St. Louis.
About two blocks from his home, St. Louis police discovered the body of the 62-year-old Missouri husband lying in an alley on San Francisco Avenue. Police informed his wife that he had been assaulted by dogs.
According to reports, the dogs also attacked a second victim, a 92-year-old man who was bringing out the trash that Saturday night. He was brought to the hospital for medical attention.
Later, employees of St. Louis Animal Control discovered three pit bulls that matched the description of dogs that had also attacked people nearby.
Dennis Moore's wife mentioned that her husband was a retired landscaper who offered to trim the lawn for the elderly residents of the neighborhood.
According to Melvina Moore, the Missourian guy was the ideal spouse and adopted her children as his own. Melvina claimed she covered her husband's night duty while he went for his usual walk.
The Missouri spouse was discovered with "significant bodily wounds." according to an incident report. Melvina remarked that officials had informed her they had some DNA evidence demonstrating the identity of the captured dogs.
Michael Lewis, a neighbor, reported to KTVI that he had observed many dogs roaming the neighborhood that belonged to someone nearby.
Lewis stated that he stayed away from the alley when he was with his dog, about 90 pounds, and won't have any issues with the pit bulls. But he did say that he wanted his dog to engage in combat with six other canines, according to News & Observer.
The medical examiner's office and Animal Control are still looking into this situation, according to the police. Authorities mentioned that the Missouri husband's remains will go through an autopsy to ascertain his official cause of death.
According to NBC 5, the three pit bulls involved in the inquiry are currently being housed at the animal shelter, according to St. Louis Animal Control.
