3 additional suspects have been arrested by FBI in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings; however initial reports state that the 3 suspects are allegedly college students who were housemates of 19-year-old suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

According to managing editor at WBZ-TV in Boston, Peter Wilson, the 3 suspects were arrested for harboring or aiding the already charged suspects, Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev after the Boston Marathon Bombings. He also tweeted that 1 of the 3 suspects is an American citizen and will be charged with false statements.

According to CBS Boston, two of the suspects are not American citizens are could be charged with obstruction of justice which holds a maximum sentence of 10 years in jail. Sources told NBC News the three additional suspects in connection with the Boston Marathon Bombings are college roommates of bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. The FBI arrested them under the alleged suspicious that the roommates removed items from Dzhokhar's dorm at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth. Sources said the FBI had been investigating them for about 10 days.

The Boston Police released an update that the 3 additional suspects are no threat to the public.

“Additional details will be provided when they become available,” police said in a statement. No news conference was scheduled.

CBS News stated that the American citizen was born and raised in Massachusetts.
