Predictions and rumors about the Steam Summer Sale 2013 have been the main source of life for gamers all around the world. Many sources claimed that July 4 was going to be the anticipated date, but, as that Thursday is long gone, many expect July 11 to be the big day.

As we reported earlier, the Steam Summer Sales have always been on a Thursday, so it's safe to assume that this year the sale will also happen on that day. What is throwing us off is the fact that this event has never been this late in the summer, suggesting that it might be closer than we think.

But, as nothing is sure yet, and we know your wallet is dying to splurge and you can't wait to expand your collection, we bring you three alternatives to start warming up for the big sale, and the great thing is, the majority of the titles being discounted are Steam-friendly.

Let's start with Amazon's Digital Summer Sale, that began on June 30 and goes on till July 14, so you still have a lot of time. New batches of games go on sale every 3-4 days and among the top picks, that happen to be Steam friendly, are Max Payne 3, at only $9.99 (75% off), Batman Arkham GOTY Pack (City & Asylum) for a whopping $11.49 and the Lego Batman Pack (Lego Batman 1&2) for only $11.49 as well.

There's also the GameFly Indie-Pendence Sale that started on the 4th of July but it was extended until July 9, so hurry up because you have a day to take advantage of this.
