Human body parts stuffed in three bags have been found in Bharuch, Gujarat. Police believe that the body parts are of the same person, and are now searching for the victim's head.
The police said that around 12.30pm on Tuesday, residents of Amratpura village under Ankleshwar Taluka found two bags in a deserted area. One bag consisted of two amputated hands of a human while the other had two amputated legs.
After the body parts were found, several police teams went to the spot and they started investigating. Later on Tuesday evening, police came across another bag containing the torso of a human body dumped near a railway crossing in Sarangpur area of Ankleshwar Taluka. The head is yet to be found and the body remains unidentified, said the police.
An FIR in connection with murder has been filed at Ankleshwar city police station. “Prima facie it appears that the accused perpetrators had cut the body in four parts ( hands, legs, torso and head) and had tried to dispose of them in different areas," Chirag Desai, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ankleshwar division, told The Indian Express.
"Three bags have been recovered while the hunt for the head is going on. As per an eye witness, an auto-rickshaw driver was seen near Amratpura village throwing the bags. Several teams have been made and we are going through CCTV footage for further leads. Soon, the body will be identified and culprits held.”
Earlier this year, an amputated leg with bandages on it was found at a deserted place in Sola, Gujarat. The leg was stuffed into a sack of flour, and was spotted by local residents, reported The Times Of India.
A team of cops reached the spot after being informed about it. According to Ghatlodia police inspector Yuvraj Vaghela, it seemed to be a case of improper disposal of surgical waste.
Deputy commissioner of police (DCP), Zone-7 and in charge of Zone-1, Premsukh Delu said that the leg may have been amputated following an accident.
A team of forensic experts and a dog squad were sent to the spot. The ground on which the leg was found was searched, but there was no clue.
