29-Year-Old Premier League Star Arrested On Suspicion Of Rape

A Premier League star was re-arrested on Tuesday in north London by the Metropolitan Police over new rape allegations. The footballer was previously arrested on Monday and taken into custody after a woman in her 20s reported an alleged attack that took place in June. The woman claimed she was raped while on a Mediterranean holiday with the said player last month.

Reports from The Sun stated that the player was arrested around 3 a.m. on Monday at his mansion while he was asleep. Six police cars drove up to apprehend the player in a dramatic quick swoop at his north London residence. Authorities have not provided enough details about the arrest only that he was released after being quizzed on the allegations.

Sources said the female victim fled the five-star resort hotel she had checked in with the football player and immediately booked a flight back home. Upon her return, the woman spoke to authorities and provided a full statement along with several photos as evidence of her bruises all over her body from the alleged attack.

Meanwhile, a new rape claim has emerged from the Instagram account of his accuser. The victim, also in her 20s, told media sources that she received a private message on her Instagram account from another alleged victim who claimed she was also raped by the same player in 2021. The player was re-arrested on the same day and remained in custody for 24 hours. He was released on bail while investigations continue to dig deeper into both circumstances.

The player is identified as an internationally renowned player in his late 20s and is due to play at the upcoming World Cup in Qatar in November representing his country. Word has it that the player could miss his club’s pre-season tour while he waits for investigations to roll out. The Premier League season is set to kick off on Aug. 5 and sources say club bosses were left stunned about the recent turn of events and his league-mates have all been absolutely dumbstruck, describing the allegations as a hammer blow to the club.

The football player’s club is yet to release a public statement on the matter and has refused to make any official comment at this time.
