The 24 Hours of Le Mans will be an immensely intense spectacle as all three factory LMP1 teams enter the grueling race with distinct challenges to overcome. First off, Kazuki Nakajima successfully delivered the No.7 Toyota TS040 to 24 Hours of Le Mans pole position. The latest Toyota LMP1 effort first begin in 2012, when unfortunately both TS030 hybrid race cars retired from the race. To date, Toyota has yet to win the at Le Mans 24 and this important pole position marks the constructor's best opportunity yet.

Next, Porsche returns to the top category of the 24 Hours of Le Mans after a long 16 year absence. Porsche holds the constructor record for the most wins in Le Mans 24 history, but the Porsche 919 Hybrid will have to be truly exceptional and the factory team will need a tremendous amount of luck for the the team to win 24 Hours of Le Mans upon their return. Porsche will start from second and fourth as the Romain Dumas' No. 14 Porsche is just 0.357 off the fastest Toyota.

Finally, the defending Le Mans 24 champions seem to be experiencing a lack of pace. The three Audi R18 e-tron Quattro race cars will start fifth, sixth, and seventh. Earlier this week, Audi driver Loic Duval suffered a heavy airborne crash at the Porsche Curves the completely destroyed the No. 1 Audi. Despite emerging from the crash with minor injuries, Duval will be replaced by Audi test driver Marc Gene.
