Mercedes-Benz unveiled the new 2015 C63 AMG and C63 AMG S earlier this week. No doubt, executive car enthusiasts are already mulling over the latest AMG sedan against the benchmark BMW M3 sedan and BMW M4 coupe. That said, the new C63 AMG will not be available until March 2015.
The presence of the new Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG is so elegant and muscular that it could be mistaken for its larger brother E63 AMG. The new Mercedes-AMG C63 features an aggressive power-dome hood, aero front bumpers, aero side skirts, rear diffuser, and an iconic AMG quad-exhaust. To our delight, the C63 AMG goes back to basics with lightweight 18-inch wheels.
Inside, the 2015 C63 AMG interior is chock-full of exclusive AMG trim including alcantara sport seats, a flat-bottom AMG steering wheel, and stainless steel pedals. The C63 has even got an AMG-specific instrument cluster, illuminated door sill plates, and AMG-branded floor mats.
Under the hood, the new C63 boasts the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine found in the Mercedes-AMG GT sports car. The standard Mercedes-AMG C63 power unit produces 469 horsepower and 479 lbs.-ft. of torque. Mated to a seven-speed AMG Speedshift gearbox, the C63 AMG will accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just four seconds and all the way to a top speed of 155 mph.
Is four seconds too slow for you? Mercedes will also offer a more powerful Mercedes-AMG C63 S that boasts 503 horspower and 516 lb.-ft. of torque. The C63 S is expected to be a tenth quicker to 100 km/h. The Mercedes-AMG C63 S will also be available with a slick set of 19-inch wheels.
Pricing for the Mercedes C63 AMG and C63 S have yet to be announced. Stay tuned as we learn more about the new AMG sedan in the months ahead!.
